Yep, visuEats will make a passionate foodie out of you!
My Food HERStory
If you know me, then you know I am not the most adventurous eater there is. There are several reasons for that. For starters, I like keeping my food simple, uncomplicated, and yet reliable. I like what I like, and it is what it is. Some people really enjoy eating food. Not me.
Lemme ‘splain…
Yes, I do eat, and I do like some foods. I have even had moments of absolute yum. Still, I mostly eat to enjoy conversation and not die.
- Firstly, I am more for the total social experience than just the taste, more times than not. This is, of course, unless I am so famished that everything tastes spectacular (please see above about eating to not die).
- Secondly, the way my biology is set up, processed foods and characteristically highly-allergenic foods are typically a bad idea.
- Thirdly, when I am actively working and operating in my professional capacity as a singer, there are certain foods (and styles of preparing food) that are my kryptonite.
All these things considered, I am a simple and picky eater rolled into one. Call me a conundrum.
The Inextricable Link Between Embracing Tech and Trying New Things
One of the easiest ways to get me to try something new is to gift wrap it as a tech tool or tech-supported resource. Saying I enjoy the innovative use of technology to make different aspects of our lives easier is an understatement. So, when I was introduced to visuEats, I was beyond intrigued. Both my inner techie and inner artiste came alive. Here’s why.
01. It was beautiful
Firstly, it is human nature to like attractive things, and the artiste in me resonates with that. Consequently, the fact that visuEats appeals to diners and restaurants in a visceral way is a feature I rather like. The high-quality photos of the menu items heighten the anticipation of the dining experience.
02. It was highly functional
Secondly, the techie in me likes when tech is designed to actually make our lives better. I, for one, could easily see myself using this app in more than one way. As a careful eater who likes to know what foods are available to me beforehand, I find the concept brilliant. Naturally, the app’s functionality is further amplified when considering my love for travelling coupled with needing to eat carefully.
03. It was new, fun, and different
Finally, visuEats is a fun app conceptually and practically. I am really excited for this second iteration that will allow me to research meal options in my (new) city and wherever I may be visiting next. This is perfect for avoiding allergies or foods that may not the best for me with my current music schedule and so much more.
Becoming More Than Just A Fan
Full disclosure, I am currently working with the visuFAM as Creative Director. That happened as a result of all the aforementioned positive experiences with the app, in addition to being a high school friend to Sophronia McKenzie (Founder and CEO of visuEats). In fact, it was Sophronia who pointed me in the direction of the app’s official website without telling me much about it (or even her true connection with the same). Admittedly, I didn’t visit the site right away (because life was happening).
When I did get around to perusing www.visueats.com, I was pleasantly surprised. I understood the concept and was immediately taken with the branding and visual presentation. I quickly contacted Sophronia and shared my thoughts about her new project. We scheduled a virtual meeting after that, and the rest, as they say, is history. I was soon onboarded as a contracted professional to help spread the word in the digital space and my relationship with Sophronia and the brand continued to grow from there.
