Being selected among Jamaican representatives at Haiti Tech Summit (HTS) 2019

I often speak of YLAI as the gift that keeps giving and this year’s staging of Haiti Tech Summit is a testament of the same. This year (2019), The US Embassy Haiti sponsored and facilitated the participation of select YLAI Fellows in the Summit, and I was happy to be one of three Jamaicans chosen for this summit; and the only woman of the bunch (in true ‘Tech It Like A Girl’ form).

About Haiti Tech Summit (HTS)

A part of a 13-year initiative founded by Forbes 30 Under 30 entrepreneur and cofounder of Global Startup Ecosystem that hosts tech summits around the world Christine Souffrant Ntim, Haiti Tech Summit (HTS) is one of the premier tech events in the world.

At each staging, HTS will bring together investors, pioneers, entrepreneurs, and creatives to ‘address humanity’s greatest challenges via technology‘ with the goal of putting Haiti in a position to leverage the 4th Industrial Revolution and accelerate the nation’s participation in the Digital Age.

Again, I applied not expecting anything

While I hope to be successful, I just never expect to be selected for these things. I have so much respect for the level of talent out there, that even when I am brave enough to apply, I understand that there is no given. Still, on the occasions where I am successful, I am always grateful and am happy to make the most of all the opportunities provided. I will be happy to share all I’ve learned and experienced during my time at the 2019 Haiti Tech Summit (HTS) via tagged posts.
